i ran over four miles a few days ago but got burned doing it. yesterday i ran around a good portion of standley lake and my knees are paying for it today. i've somehow entered into this new level of running and there are so many awesome trails i can get to. the only problem is that winter is coming. i am going to a concert this friday to see mudhoney. i actually really dig them so i'm looking forward to rockin out. saturday we have a game here versus arizona state. and i have so much homework and reading to do. ended up doing bad on the quiz. we are allowed to make it up for more points but i still don't know how to figure it out. it's really good to have friends again. i still miss our little life out there, but it's cool to be able to do things with people. my fellow intern bracken is actually moving to denver now with sky and their kid. excited for that.
i’m tired because like most nights i was up till forever doing homework. i actually have a decent handle on two of my classes but econ is killing me. our first homework assignment is due today in class and i think i would be lucky if i'd be able to finish it by tonight. i think. we’ll see. mudhoney was really awesome on Friday. it was a fairly tame show however i got a pretty bad slice on my shoulder from getting tossed into a wall. saturday was pretty eventful. after the night of rockin with 30-something grungers, i was up early with kim to go to her brother’s football game. next up was the egg and I for some tasty breakfast goodness. later on was a little tailgate mooching with karen and her fam before the cu game. and yes, they lost again. 0 and 3 now. arizona state kicked our trash and our offensive line just fell apart. all my hopeful teams lost last saturday actually. they usually do. rarely has there been any team i rooted for during the season and they actually do good. it was a night game so it was pretty cold and windy. fall just kind of snuck up on us here because the cold won’t seem to give us a break. anyway, later that night we went to karen’s and watched a movie. the end. sunday was the usual. yesterday was homework all day. today is crappy school and an avs game with tom. i thought april would want to go with the tickets I gave them, but this is cool too. never been to a hockey game so i’m pretty stoked. but that’s later. right now it’s tennesee jed.
Mulholland Drive (2001): a woman tries to uncover her identity after an amnesia-inducing car accident, only for us to discover she is just some other girl's fantasy. or is she? or maybe she's not. no, she's real. something like that. from the descriptions I’ve been given about this movie, it sounds for sure to be one of the most confusing movies i’ve ever seen. so i’m going to try and pay extra attention. for a good half of the movie there are so many subplots going on that it does make it a little confusing. but the scenes transition and flow so well between one another. lynch is really good at messing with and controlling the viewer’s emotion. he really puts us in the character’s perspective well. it’s one of the most artistic and dramatic movies i’ve seen. and although i don’t quite understand 100 percent of what all happened, it’s still so well done and interesting that i didn’t want it to end. so i will probably recommend buying it to watch over and over. and yes, for nothing else, the lesbo scene is off the hook. so for those that like that arthouse movies with plots going in every direction, this one’s certainly for you. and for those that say they don’t like those movies only because they really have never seen any, you probably don’t want to start with this one. pulp fiction sets the standard for all, so that’s where you want to be.
memorable, B+
